PLASTIC REPAIR
There are many forms of plastic repair. There epoxy, plastic welding and glue.
Plastic adhesive - glue made from plastic. I have not had luck with this. He had problems with sticking to some types of plastics.
Repair Epoxy - This is the cheapest form of reparation plastic, but does not work with all plastic. Fade with time or discolor and chip. He had problems with sticking to some types of plastics.
Plastic Welder - Many people have never heard of plastic welding. But this is probably the best use of all plastic, but you must know what type of plastic it is. So you can use the right in search of plastic welding.
· Plastic welder hot air – with this type of plastic welding. The unit must have an air source. There are 2 options for this type of welder.
1. A hot air plastic welder with its own air source. Some kind of fan in the unit force hot air out of the tip. Some of these welders have a control unit of temperature on them.
2. A plastic welder hot air with a hose. This class will have to buy a compressor with a regulator. This plastic welder can control the air pressure regulator. You must use about 3 to 4 lbs. or less pressure when welding with it.
With this type of plastic welding. You have to learn to heat both the base material and the filler rod at the same time, without burning or discoloring of both. It will take time to learn how to use this plastic welder.
· Airless plastic welder – This is probably the easiest plastic welder for use and can repair almost any plastic.
You will not have a source of air with these welders. There is very little learning curve with this type of plastic welding. It is as the weld metal at all. Heat the plastic base material and filler metal and 2 join to form a stronger bond that sometimes the original plastic item.
1. Airless plastic welder without temperature control: These are easier to use than any of the foregoing, but has its limits. You have no control over the heat. Ideal for ATV & motorcycle fenders, kayaking and canoeing.
2. Airless welder plastic with temperature control: This unit can be controlled heat. This will allow the user of plastic welding of many different types of plastics. ATV & motorcycle Defenders and others plastic parts, plastic kayak and canoe Automotive, plastic and many others homeless subject of plastic inside and outside the home.
· Plastic Welder Ultrasonic – plastic welder These are probably the best you can buy, but the price is very high in this type of welders. So it generally bought by companies.
