Seven Quick Tips for Trade Show Booth Selection

What you should know about Fair Booth Selection
- Trade Show Display Booth space is assigned based on the size stand and seniority are
- The location is only one factor in selecting an ideal space booth
- Keep some distance between you and your competitors
- Restrictions on the height can vary by program and country
In general, the fair exhibit booth spaces are based on the past, the participation of an exhibitor at the show (antiquity). The exhibitors who participated in the past is brought into contact first and you can select your space. New exhibitors are contacted later.
You can usually draw a triangle from the entrance to the auditorium and determine areas where demand is highest. There are other areas of an auditorium with good visibility and high traffic potential that are less evident than for the triangle. For new exhibitors, with a keen eye, prime spaces may be available later in the selection process. It is not uncommon for exhibitors to cancel your Cabin space, sometimes months and even weeks before the show. The organizers will be happy to move to this location more favorable if they know who are willing to move.
It's Not Just Location
Location is only one factor in a show of success. Depending on the series, its location can not offer much advantage. Pre-show promotion, a clear marketing message, and good trade show staff stands are generally more important than good stand placement. However, it can only help to have a larger space with the traffic pattern for the size of your stand.
What size Select Booth
Consider such factors as the amount of space competition is committed to the assistance provided, how many employees staff the booth, and how much space is required for products, demonstrations, meetings, etc. You also want to consider its growth plan in the industry. The reduction of booth space for displaying a year to year is not recommended. For example, from a 20 'x 30' island booth to a 20 'x 20' island is rarely a problem. But, going from a 20 'x 20' to an island online 10 'x 20' has negative connotations, too much about the financial health of your business.
Selection Tips
Once you know the booth size you need, you'll want to consider the following tips to make your selection:
- Large display booths expensive are generally located near the auditorium entrance. Typically deployed to make way for smaller spaces to the rear cabin and the perimeter.
- You many want to keep some distance between you and your closest competitors.
- Consider the architecture of the installation. Be aware columns and variations in ceiling height.
- Look for opportunities to be outside. Often times, there is a great distance from the entrance or in a room that can give you an advantage. Consider exhibit near the entrance of the restaurant or in a space flanked by the primary traffic corridors.
- There are restrictions in height. Some shows strictly enforce these rules. Do not assume that U.S. regulations are the same as in Europe, Asia and Latin America. They are not.
- No booth spaces off perimeter. Perimeter Spaces displays often allow full height (up to 16 feet). This advantage, along with the placement at the beginning or end of the high traffic corridors, can attract many participants.
- Consider splitting an island booth space with another company. Many programs allow two speakers to share a booth space and divide to suit. An island can become two peninsulas, for example,
