Prevent leakage at the bottom of your Water Heater: Update Your Drain Valve

Many water heaters come with a drain valve that has a cone-shaped handle. They spell trouble. Other manufacturers of water heaters faucet has a type of plastic drain valve. This type of drain valve is prone to breaks and leaks. The best types are the brass hose BIBB, not unlike BIBB the average garden hose. Even better would be Brass Ball valve. This type of drain valve would have a lever that can be open or closed. The brass ball valve allows more efficient washing of the water heater.
In most residential water heaters, 3 / 4 gate valve inch brass can be installed. Ball valves allow more open drain valves that gives the best wash the inside of the drain valve. Off a ball valve is as easy as moving the lever 90 degrees. A hose BIBB must be the return trip. We also know that a piece must be installed adapter ranging from 3 / 4 pipe thread 3 / 4 wire hose will be needed. Now you have the brass ball valve that is the least we can block all the valves drain. If the brass ball valve can not be installed, the second best is a brass hose BIBB.
Plastic valves and plastic cone dripping faucet valves, in freezing, and sediment cover with the easiest. Threads of plastic are easy to cross when you want to connect a hose garden to the drain valve. Even after opening a plastic valve once, using it and closing back up, the valve can drip. To remove the plastic cone valve, unscrew the water heater by turning it counterclockwise while pulling it out. Six laps probably will suffice. Then turn right and continue shooting. Wrap Teflon tape around the protruding nipple. Now install the brass ball valve. In order to avoid be sprayed with water while installing the new drain valve, first cut off the supply of water to the cold water inlet at the top of the heater Hot water is closed when the water stops flowing through. That'll keep any air into the lines.This relieves pressure on the lines and allow that the drain valve to be replaced without draining the water heater. Make sure no one is using water, while going to replace the drain valve. Also the pilot gas supply or pull the electrical plug, if electric.
A liter of water or less can get out of the water heater after all the preparation inside. Be prepared to begin the procedure quickly right after though.
Remember, adding a brass gate valve can be used to clean the tank and kept clean of sediment. A free tank produces hot water sediment.
