PIR motion sensors do not work through Windows?

If I mount a PIR (passive infrared) motion sensor behind a window, going to pick movement on the other side of the window?

Two ways to answer your question. 1. A more theoretical approach. A. Finding a spectral response curve PIR sensor. But my hunch is that the typical window glass block infrared frequency heat. 2. A. experimental approach Take a piece of glass and a PIR sensor. See if you can detect through glass.
