Uninterruptible Power Supply – Automatic and static transfer switches

Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS) are designed to provide resilience in energy planning continuity and uninterruptible power supply (UPS) deployments below 10 kVA, where UPS can not run in parallel.
Static transfer switches are relay and base can be used in place of PDUs (Power Distribution Units) for plug-and-play charges. Care must be taken with these devices to ensure a single point Failure is not inserted into the output side of UPS. Each device is protected by a fuse or Circuit Breaker and where to open or break the load could be withdrawn.
Automatic Transfer Switches contain two sources of AC power input (A) and (B). A possible mode of operation is that the power supply (A) may be supplied from the output of a UPS and (B) of a power supply. Another is that both (A) and (B) are supplied from two separate exits uninterruptible power supply. Another alternative is that both are supplied separately from two mains sources.
Where a power supply fails, the load / s are automatically transferred to the second. When the two supplies are in phase with each other, the transfer is snapshot.
In addition, an automatic transfer switch can provide protection against short circuit load, the ability to change their connections output power on and off remotely (by network) and load measurement locally through an LCD screen or embedded in the communications sub-D port type. ATS can also be wired for more operating power.
